Bartell Drugs, your neighborhood drug store since 1890, is looking for a high energy, dependable, hard working Bulk Picker (Electric Pallet Jack Rider) for our Distribution Center's Bulk department located at 21202 24th Avenue S. Des Moines, WA. Regular attendance and punctuality is expected. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - Completed.  Starting pay is $18.50 per hour and compensation includes a generous benefit package and great work environment. There is room for advancement at the Distribution Center as well!  

Job Summary:

The Bulk Picker Warehouse Associate is an integral position within the DC operation. They must support their team, pull bulk product and build pallets correctly to assure the product is shipped to the store accurately. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of our brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.  Bulk Pickers with EPJ / MHE / PIT experience use electric pallet jacks (EPJs or Rider Jacks) to move product within Bulk and Outbound.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure alignment with Company Mission, Vision and Core Values.
• Prepare for and execute daily shipping duties using EPJ to move bulk product.
• Participate in Cross training and development of employees as directed.
• Assist in all areas of the Distribution Center, as needed.
• Use good judgment to carry out detailed written or oral instructions in English. Be able to deal with variables that occur on occasion that might deviate from the normal working situation.
• Be a team player with reliable attendance and a positive can-do attitude.
• Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements With or Without Accommodation:

• Stand on concrete floor for long periods of time.
• Make visual comparisons and see slight differences in shapes and sizes of figures, widths and lengths of lines.
• Move hands, fingers and eyes rapidly and accurately in making precise movements with speed.
• Extend hands, arms in all directions; seizing, holding, grasping, picking merchandise mainly with the use of fingers.
• Move fingers and manipulate small, medium and larger items rapidly and accurately.
• Must be able to squat, kneel and bend below the waist-level to lift up to 50lbs from floor to chest.
• Frequently obtain merchandise from below waist-level and raise it to above the head.
• Use electronic hand-held devices for order fulfillment.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Quickly and accurately perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals and fractions.
• Read, write, speak and comprehend conversational English to be able to read stock orders, safety rules and instructions in the use of machinery.
• Previous warehouse/distribution center and EPJ experience required.
