Inventory Control - Returns Handling

Bartell Drugs, your neighborhood drug store since 1890, is looking for a high energy, dependable, hard working Returns/QC Clerk for our Distribution Center's Inventory and Quality Control department!

We are in Des Moines, WA. Regular attendance and punctuality are expected. The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday and the shift is 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM.  There is room for advancement within the Distribution Center and within the Company!  Starting pay is $18.50 per hour with a generous benefit package (eligible the first of the month after starting) and great work environment!

JOB SUMMARY:

The primary purpose of the Returns/QC Clerk in the IC/QC Department is to process vendor returns and discontinued, damaged, and outdated merchandise. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned
• Interact with vendors and Buyers to arrange the return of recalled, discontinued, damaged, and outdated merchandise.
• Pull merchandise from inventory for return to the vendor; adjust the inventory accordingly.
• Determine if damaged merchandise is in sellable condition; clean merchandise that is sellable and return it to the inventory.
• Arrange the transportation of product from the distribution center to the vendor.
• Maintain a log of damaged merchandise.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

The incumbent is required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws

Prior experience with inventory control and returns tracking is preferred.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
