In This Role You Will

Develop and maintain a security program to safeguard our Des Moines, WA distribution center’s personal, physical and intangible assets. Frequent independent judgments  are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and applicable laws.

 

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:
-Develop and maintain continuous monitoring activities to minimize loss in our warehouse.
-Educate management and associates on effective supply chain-related security measures.
-Maintain appropriate staffing levels.
-Direct and train loss prevention staff on maintenance and utilization of CCTV system.
-Conduct and direct investigations in accordance with company standards.
-Develop procedures to implement, support and enforce policies.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position directly supervises Lead Security Guards and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

EXPERIENCE, SKILL and ABILITY REQUIREMENTS

The following qualities are required:
-Minimum age of 18 years old due to Education/Experience requirement.
-Ability to pass drug test.
-Committed to providing customer service that makes both internal and external customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
-Ability to preserve confidentiality of information.
-Ability and willingness to move with purpose and a strong sense of urgency.
-Ability to work weekends on an occasional basis.
-Ability to work extended days on a frequent basis.
-Ability to work day or evening hours.
-Accuracy and attention to detail.
-Ability to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks/projects.
-Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes.
-Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines.
-Proficiency with Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet
Explorer, and Outlook

EDUCATIONAL, CERTIFICATE and LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree (AA) in Management or a related field, plus five (5) years' experience working in supply chain or military/civilian logistics, and/or safety, management, or big box environment (large building/high employee count); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports,
    and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers,
    regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles
    for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information
    to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Ability to read, write, and speak
    English fluently.

 

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions,
    percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and
    geometry.

 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to
    interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
    with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

  • Valid driver's license for business travel.

 

  • Candidate is required to be a Certified Forensic Interviewer.
